Graham Cooke tells how the Lord didn't allow him to earn any money for nine months. Even though there was no money coming in, the Lord took care of them all the time. Each evening Graham would sit his children down and ask them what they wanted for breakfast the next morning. They would place their orders, and the next day what they asked for was delivered to their door. Graham doesn't say how this happened, but I guess the Lord used other believers to 'fill the orders', so to speak.

The experience taught them some important lessons:
1. God can be trusted.
2. When He makes a promise, He intends to keep it.
3. Be specific about your need when you pray.

God can do the same thing for you.

Do you have a need?

Come to the Lord and lay it before Him. Be specific. Search the Word for a promise or promises that covers your need, and then remind the Lord of His promise.

Know that God's Word is His will for us, so when we pray according to His Word or His promises, we pray according to His will. When we pray according to His will, we can rest assured that He hears us and He will answer.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you" (1 Peter 5:7).

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done" (Philippians 4:6).

And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for" (1 John 5:14-15).
