God Thoughts

While working on our Afrikaans web page, I read a devotional piece about the wounds on the body of Jesus, and I realised something I had never thought about before.

Thomas didn't believe Jesus was raised from the dead.

His exact words were: "Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."

Eight days later Jesus appeared to the disciples again. This time Thomas was with them.

Jesus told him: "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing."

And Thomas believed.

What I realised was this: Jesus will be carrying those wounds that speak of what He did for us through all eternity.

The body He now has will be the body He has for eternity, so those wounds aren't going to disappear.

It will forever remind us of the love He has for us, the sacrifice He made for us and the price He paid for us.

We will be able to look at those wounds and worship Him and thank Him continually for what He did for us.

I don't think we will feel bad about the fact that we were the reason He had to suffer so much, we will just be in awe and so thankful for the fact that He died in our place, that He reconciled us with the Father, that He saved us from Satan's reign and influence in our lives and that we can be with Hom and know Him for all eternity.

Let us start worshipping and thanking Him right now for who He is and what He has done for us!
