God Thoughts

Every year at the Feast of the Passover Jesus and His parents went up to Jerusalem.

When He was twelve years old they did it again.

However this time Jesus didn't return home with His parents, but stayed in Jerusalem.

His parents noticed His absence after a day and began looking for Him.

After three days they found Him in the temple. He was sitting with the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

Mary told Him they were looking for Him, to which He replied, "Why were you searching for Me? Didn't you know I had to be about My Father's business?"

Be about the Father's business.

That was what Jesus was doing all His life.

And it is what we as God's children should be doing as well.

In John 6:28 the crowd ask Jesus what they should do to do the work God requires of them, and He replies, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent" (vs.29).

In 1 John 3:23 we read: "This is His commandment, that we believe in the Name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us."

To live by faith and walk in love is part of the Father's business.

That is what He does, and it is what Jesus did while here on earth.

Everything Jesus did was done by faith in God the Father.

Everything He did was done out of love for the Father and for those around Him.

He demonstrated how we should be about the Father's business ourselves.

And He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to do it.

Are you about the Father's business?

Do you live by faith and walk in love?

Are you making Him and His Son known to others?

Do you allow Him to use you to accomplish His will?

Follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Be about the Father's business.
