TELL THEM ABOUT HIM

In Luke 19:28-44 we find the account of Jesus entering Jerusalem riding on a donkey.

As He was entering the city the crowd of disciples began to praise God for all the miracles they had seen.

"Blessed is the King who comes in the Name of the Lord; peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" (vs.38).

The disciples were praising God; however, there were people in the crowd who weren't too impressed with what was happening.

Yes, you guessed it... the Pharisees came to Jesus to complain.

They said, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples," but Jesus answered, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" (vs.39-40).

All creation are constantly speaking of God's greatness, of His power and majesty.

In Psalm 19:1-2 we read: "The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge."

Even when we are silent, when we don't acknowledge God and what He has done and is doing, creation is giving Him the glory.

But should we keep quiet about the wonders of our God because we know creation is praising Him?

No!

We should open our mouths and join them in their praise.

We should tell about His mighty deeds, about the miracles He has done and is doing in our lives.

We should give Him all the glory not just with our words, but with our entire lives.

Jesus died an excruciating death to save us from sin and death.

He did all that needed to be done to give us new life and peace with God.

Through Him we can step back into a relationship with God.

We need to talk about this.

We need to tell others the good news.

We can't assume everyone around us knows about Jesus and what He has done for us. Maybe they know a little, but don't really understand all of it. We need to tell them, explain to them.

Some people haven't heard the gospel at all, even though they live in a country where there is religious freedom.

We need to share God's love and grace with them so they too can have the opportunity to get to know Jesus and believe in Him so they can be saved.

You don't have to be a pastor or a trained theologian to tell others about the Lord.

You just have to know Him because then you would have had experiences with Him and you would have a story to tell.

Just tell people about your journey with the Lord.

Tell them about the wonderful things He has done for you.

Tell them about the faith you have in Him and how you trust Him to meet every single need you have.

Tell them about the love, the peace, the grace and mercy, the forgiveness you have experienced when you made Jesus the Lord of your life.

Praise God for the things you have seen Him do in your own life and in the lives of people around you.

Then leave the rest up to the Holy Spirit. He will do what you can't do - convince the person you are talking to of the truth.

You just sow the seed.

Is there someone you can go to today and tell him or her about the Lord and what He has done for you?
