God Thoughts

Watched the movie "War Room" yesterday.

I can truly recommend it.

If you want to be inspired to make more of your prayer life, this is the movie to see.

I am also reading the book, "The Battle Plan for Prayer", written by the writers of "War Room", and I can recommend it as well.

God has done everything that needed to be done to bring us back into relationship with Him. All we have to do is accept what Jesus did for us.

One of the benefits of being in relationship with Him is that we can come boldly to the throne of grace.

Jesus made the way.

Now it is up to us to make time to pray.

Because, you see, you need to make time to pray.

Trying to fit prayer into your already busy schedule won't work.

But designing your schedule around prayer and time in the Word - now that is a recipe for success.

The Lord wants us to pray. He delights in having us trust Him enough to ask Him and He also delights in answering our prayers.

Sometimes we immediately receive an answer. Other times we have to wait a while. But even when we have to wait, it is worth it, for God always give us what is best for us. And when He says 'No' to something, it is only because He has something better in mind.

I read that George Müller recorded 50 000 answers to prayer.

That is a lot of prayers answered!

What would happen in our prayer lives if we began to record every single answer to prayer?

To be able to go back and see God's faithfulness would be such a blessing. And it would encourage us to keep praying especially when it takes a while for God to answer.

Today I want to encourage you to pray.

Set aside some time every day so you can pray.

If you do this, you have this promise found in James 4:8: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."

Praying brings you closer to the Lord and it helps you get to know Him better.

And when you pray, believe that you have received the things you've asked for, and they will be granted you (Mark 11:24).

Why not take some time right now and spend some time with the Lord in prayer - He wants to hear your voice!
