In Jeremiah 1:11-12 we read: "The word of the LORD came to me saying, 'What do you see, Jeremiah?' And I said, 'I see a rod of an almond tree.' Then the LORD said to me, 'You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.'"
In this verse the Lord is clearly saying He is the one performing His Word.
But sometimes I think He is watching to see us perform the Word.
Think about it.
When we read an instruction in His Word we know what He wants us to do.
But then it is up to us to choose to obey the Word and to go out and actually do what He instructed us to do.
Now we are the ones performing His Word.
Oh we need His help to perform His Word, for apart from Him we can do nothing.
We need Him to give us the ability and the strength, but that only comes when we step out in faith and do what we were instructed to do.
Only then will we see the Lord manifest Himself to us in helping us accomplish what we would otherwise have been unable to do.
What has the Lord instructed you to do? What Word did He give you to perform?
Have you obeyed?
If not, it is not too late.
Just go back to the last instruction He gave and step out in faith to do what He told you.
And trust Him to come alongside and help you perform His Word!
