We've been chatting about some lies Satan tells us; lies we so often believe.

Today we are going to take a look at another of his lies. This lie has two versions.

Version number one goes something like this: you receive an instruction from the Lord and you just know you are unable to accomplish what He told you to do. The words, "I can't" popped into your mind almost immediately.

Version number two works like this: you receive an instruction from the Lord and you know you can do it. The words, "I can do this and I can do it on my own" popped into your mind when you heard the Lord speak to you.

Both of these are a subtle lie from the devil.

When you think you can't do what God tells you to do, you are right. When you think you can do God's will on your own, you are wrong.

You see, we can't do God's will on our own. We don't have what it takes. But the Lord doesn't want us to do it on our own. He is right there to help us.

Philippians 2:13 tells us: "
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him" (NLT).

God is working in us. He gives us the desire to obey Him. He also gives us the power to do so.

On top of that, He gave us the Holy Spirit - our Helper - to help us do what we can't do on our own.

That means we can. We can do whatever the Lord instructs us to do. With His help, of course.

We don't have to fear to obey the Lord because He is with us. We can trust the Holy Spirit to give us the power and to help us accomplish His will.

Remember this next time Satan tries to convince you of the opposite:
you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13, NLT).

You can!
