HOLY SPIRIT (5)
In 1 Corinthians 2:16 we read: "For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ."
What does it mean, we have the mind of Christ?
Does it mean God supernaturally replaces our minds with the mind of Christ the day we get saved? Apparently not, for we are instructed in Romans 12:2 to renew our minds. And if God already replaced our minds with the mind of Christ, He wouldn't instruct us to renew our minds.
In Philippians 4:8 we are instructed on the things to think about. Again, if God had replaced our minds with the mind of Christ, we would automatically think His thoughts, and wouldn't need instruction on what to think about.
So I guess God did not take my mind and replaced it with Christ's mind when I was saved.
But the Word states that we have the mind of Christ, so it is something we already possess. Then what does it mean?
God has given us the Holy Spirit to live inside of us. In Romans 8:9 we see that the He is also called the Spirit of Christ: "However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him."
So we have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ living inside of us.
And since the Spirit of Christ can have no one elses mind except the mind of Christ, it means we have the mind of Christ in the Spirit of Christ living on the inside of us!
Awesome, isn't it?
