| About me
Last week I went to bed too early the one night, so I woke up at about one in the morning and couldn't fall asleep again.
As I was lying in bed trying to sleep, the Lord prompted me to get up and prepare for our Bible study at church.
We are working through the Bible and this week we are looking at the book of Hebrews.
So I got up and began reading Hebrews.
What an awesome book!
Do yourself a favour and read the whole book in one go. You will be amazed at the things the Lord is saying in this book.
Hebrews is a book full of encouragement.
Over and over you read about holding fast to our faith: "...hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end" (3:6); "...let us hold fast our confession" (4:14); "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering..." (10:23).
You get the idea that the writer is attempting to encourage the readers to not give up, but to keep going in spite of things like persecution.
This book really touched me, because it carries the same message of encouragement the Lord used earlier this month when I got discouraged about something and thought about giving up. The Lord said: "Don't give up. Persevere. Have faith."
And that is exactly what we read in Hebrews.
Today I want to encourage you with this message as well.
Maybe you are also thinking about giving up on something.
Don't give up.
And if you still feel like giving up, read the book of Hebrews and allow the Lord Himself to encourage you.
