God Thoughts

Some of the most beautiful verses in the Bible tells us about the love God has for us.

John 3:16 is probably the best known verse on God's love for us: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

In Romans 5:8 we find these words: "...but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

And in 1 John 4:9-10 we read: "In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

We see the love God has for humans all through the Word and it is wonderful to know the Lord loves us so very much.

But God wants us to love others too, as we clearly see from this instruction in 1 John 4:11: "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

When the Lord instructs us to do something, He always equips us to do what He had instructed.

So in order for us to be able to love others, He had to equip us to do that, and He did!

Romans 5:5 tells us: "...the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." And 2 Timothy 1:7 says: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Through the Holy Spirit God gave us His love. It is inside of us, in our own spirits. Therefore we can love others with God's love, for He gave us what we need to love them with an unconditional love.

From these verses we see God gave us His love in two ways: He gave us His love when He gave us Jesus, and He gave us His love when He gave us the Holy Spirit.

That means we can walk in love, we have no excuse to not walk in love.

God showed us how when He gave Jesus, and He gave us the ability when He poured out His love in our hearts throught the Holy Spirit.

Go into the world, loving everyone you meet. Share the love of God with them... don't hold back. Fix your eyes on Jesus and remember His great love for you!
