For the next two days we are going to take a look at the first couple of verses from Paul's letter to the Ephesians.

The very first verse of the letter explains to us who wrote the letter and to whom: "
This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am writing to God's holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus."

Verse two is kind of a prayer for the believers: "
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace."

Grace and peace.

Grace can be defined as God's favour as well as His power working in us to help us do what we are unable to do on our own.

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. We have peace with God because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, therefore we can live with a sense of peace in our hearts and minds. Jesus said He gives us His peace. It is a peace the world cannot give. It is His gift to us (John 14:27).

I want to make this my prayer for each one of you: May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace to help you do what you cannot do in your own strength, today and every day of your life. And may you be filled with Their peace in your heart and your mind.

Thank you, Lord, for Your grace and peace in our lives!
