| About me
Yesterday I wrote about the book of Hebrews.
This book encourages us to not give up, but to keep persevering in our faith.
Saturday morning the Lord prompted me to read Paul's letter to the believers in Colossae. And there I found the exact same message!
Again we find verses like this to encourage believers to fight the good fight of faith and not give up:
"...if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel" (1:23).
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness" (2:6).
Though the message to the believers in Colossae are not just about persevering in their faith, I found the encouragement confirmation from the Lord about His words to me a few days ago when He said, "Don't give up. Persevere. Have faith."
Twice the Lord gave me the same confirmation, from the book of Hebrews and now from Colossians.
I believe we all need to take this message to heart.
Things in this world might not get easier; in fact, according to the book of Revelation it will get more difficult the closer we get to the Lord's return.
Persecution will intensify, and we have to be ready to stand firm in our faith even in the face of persecution.
Don't let go of your faith, no matter what is going on around you.
Fight the good fight of faith.
Keep your eyes firmly fixed on Jesus.
Trust Him with your whole heart.
Don't give up!
