Jeremiah 18:1-6 tells how God sent Jeremiah to the potter's house.
The potter was busy working on a project.
But the project didn't turn out he way he planned for the clay was marred - it had a defect, a flaw.
So he worked at it and got rid of the flaw and made it into a beautiful vessel.
This is a picture of our own lives - we are all marred vessels.
God made us to be beautiful, but because we have the 'sin defect' we don't turn out the way He planned.
So He works at us and works at us and through Jesus coming into our lives our defect is taken care of.
He removes our 'sin defect' and we are no longer marred.
Now God can turn us into the beautiful vessel He intended us to be.
Next time you look at yourself in the mirror, remember your beautiful spirit inside. You cannot see it, but it is the real you and it looks just like Jesus. It is one with Him.
Then thank Him for coming into your life and for taking your 'sin defect' away.
Thank Him for making you a beautiful vessel, ready to be used by Him.
Thank Him for who you are in Him, for that is your true identity.
